The 2012 Spring Seminar will be held on Friday, May 11 at Carnegie Event Center in Newport, Kentucky.  KDC Director, Jason Kuhlman, is in the process of planning this event.  Topics and speakers include:

     David S. Stallard - "Critical Steps and Pitfalls Presented to an Attorney by a Patent or IP Issue." Mr. Stallard is a Senior Partner at Wood Herron & Evans in Cincinnati and is involved in all phases of the firm's intellectual property practice.  His expertise is concentrated in the areas of mechanical and electro-mechanical subject matter, trademarks and client counseling.  Mr. Stallard has been listed as one of The Best Lawyers in America in the Intellectual Property section for more than twenty years.  David has also been named as an Ohio Super Lawyer and co-authored "What Every Engineer Should Know about Patients." 

     Judge Joy A. Moore, 6th Appellate District, 2nd Division - Judge Moore was elected judge for the KY Court of Appeals in November 2006 to serve Division 2 of the 6th Appellate District.  After teach special ed for seven years, Juge Moore earned her juris doctor from Northern Kentucky University Salmon P. Chase College of Law, ranking #1 in her class, magna cum laude, and was a member of the Northern Kentucky Law Review.  Judge Moore served six years as chief law clerk for William O. Bertelsman, senior judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.  She also served as staff attorney for KY Court of Appeals Judges Daniel T. Guidugli and Robert W. Dyche, III.  As a practitioner, she worked in civil rights defense work at Adams, Stepner, Woltermann & Dusing PLLC in Covington and practiced general litigaiton law with Hoffman, Hoffman & Grubbs.
